What is Agglomerated Xanthan Gum?

A unique form of agglomerated xanthan gum specially processed to provide food formulations with rapid dispersion, dissolution and very rapid generation of viscosity. Common uses include:

  • thickening and stabilizing in dressings and sauces
  • bakery fillings
  • non-dairy beverages

It’s commonly used to create ease of use in the production plant and reduce the common processing challenges hydrocolloids are known for.

Insta*Thick® Xanthan can be used anywhere raw xanthan is used. It will hydrate faster, create viscosity quicker, and reduce clumps and bumps. It’s commonly used to reduce production errors from raw material miss use as well as bottle neck reduction.

Aqueous products such as sauces, soups, and dressings commonly utilize a variety of ingredients which add viscosity, mouthfeel, and act as suspension agents. During production, however hydrocolloids such as xanthan require a hydration stage, this hydration stage in most plants creates a bottle neck. Insta Xanthan can greatly reduce or even help remove this bottle neck altogether by creating rapid hydration and viscosity.

Agglomerated hydrocolloids are functional on their own but together there are a number which provide synergistic benefits; benefits such as more of the desired functionality or lower usage rates.

Instant Xanthan also known as agglomerated or rapid dispersion is an optimized version of xanthan. It’s used in the same applications as its raw form but allows better ease of use and more rapid solubility & viscosity.

Xanthan is known for being a challenge to work with. It clumps when added too fast and requires just the right amount of shear to go into solution. Insta*Thick® Xanthan is created to overcome these challenges by maximizing surface area and creating channels for moisture to flow.
